Huntly Tennis Club.
The annual meeting of the Tennis Club was held on Tuesday evening last in the Library. There was a very small attendance. The report and balance sheet for the past year were read, and although the credit balance in hand is small, yet this is very satisfactory considering the heavy expenditure involved in laying down No. 3 Court. The following were elected to the various offices: —Patron,Miss Ralph ; honorary presidents, Messrs R. F. Bollard, M.P., W. J. Ralph, E. V. Ralph, L. B. Harris, sen., L. B. Harris, junr., R. Greenwell, J. P. Bailey, P. R. Colebrook, and J. Fletcher; president, Mr Garland ; vicepresent, Mr Mel.sop; secretary and treasurer, Mr Smith ; men’s committee, Messrs Burgess, Littleproud, Webster, S. Gleeson, C. Gleeson, W. Ruston, and F. Farrell; ladies committee, Mesdames Littleproud,Garland, Burgess, Misses Herd, Horwood, Sterling and Lynch ; auditor, | Mr Burgess ; selectors, Messrs S. Gleeson and G. Mellsop, and : Miss Herd. At the conclusion of the meeting the President presented Miss Horwood with a trop.iy given by Miss Ralph consisting of a handsome silver-backed hand mirror, and half a dozen j teaspoons. This prize was given for the Ladies’ Handicap Singles. : The President also stated that he was giving Mrs A. Ruston a silver-mounted photo frame suitably inscribed in place of the racquet which Mr A.
