KING’S HALL. FRIDAY. SATURDAY AND MONDAY. For this wor k end Mr Britton has again secured programmes of unequalled and unexceptional merit, while their projection by this latest cinematographic machinery will not only please his patrons, but will once more prove that living pictures like those screened at the King’s cannot be seen outside Metropolitan theatres. Fresh, vivid, realistic every film is of absorbing interest. For Friday night the management introduces two constellations, each 2000 feet long, in “ Steel ” and in “ Soul to Soul.” The former, a romance of heart throbbing interest, and full of unexpected sensations and situations, shows how an American steel magnate is defeated in his efforts to marry his daughter to a title by the success of his technical assistant who amasses a fortune by his successful discovery of a metal as resistent, but only half the weight of steel. “Soul to Soul” is a pictorial representation of the proverb —“Marry.in haste ; repent at leisure.” The supporting pictures are of an absorbing type. “ Shotgun Jones,” a Western drama, not only grips at the heart strings, but is a great temperance film second to none in point of interest, and intensely dramatic and sensational in tone. The whole programme of 8000 feet comprising comedy, drama, and a scenic, is truly a wonderful collection of fresh, bright, and interesting pictures, so that Saturday night should see another full house. On Monday “ Discord and Harmony” will be the film fie luxe. The story of a secret marriage, pathetic in the extreme, and a Gold Seal film of 3000 feet, is well supported by others, among which is one of the famous Keystone comedies, “ Mabel’s New Hero.”
