According to the Government statistician the population of the Waikato Hospital District is as follows: —Waipa 5223, Waikato 5836, Waitomo 3966, Raglan 3207, Piako 2907, Matamata 3250, Hamilton 3608, Ohura 1584, Kaitieke 1598, Awakino 667, Kawhia 965, Rotorua Town 2636, Rotorua County 1272, Frankton 1228, Te Kuiti 1397, East Taupo 582, West Taupo 1074, Te Awamutu 711, Cambridge 1614, Morrinsville 624, Huntly 1455, Taumarunui 1244, Ngaruawahia 527, Te Aroha 1431, Mananui 570. To these figures must be added the population which, aocording to the cencus of 1911, stands at 6,396, thus giving a grand total of 58,871,
