Under the auspices of the Huntly Scots Society a very enjoyable social wtis held in the Masonic Hall on Friday night last, the chief, Dr Macdifirmid, senr, presiding over a good attendance. After tea which was the first item on the programme, the chairman delivered a brief introductory speech, the remainder of the evening being devoted to vocal and instrumental music and dancing. The accompaniments and the dance music were supplied by the Messrs Reid (2) and H. Burt. Mesdames Black and Shand, Messrs T. Britton, Cochrane, Gibb, A. Shand, J. Thomson, and W. Wood coniri buted vocal items, Miss Reid giving a pianoforte selection and Mr Wood a recitation. A vote of thanks’ to the chief brought proceedings to an end at the “wee short ’oor ayont the twai,”
