Huntly Town Board
The usual monthly nutating of the Huntly Town Board was I trsday, Messrs J.P. Bailey, .1. P. (chairman , j 1,. B. Harris jititr., R. Greonwell. iT. Horwood, J. Elliot, and the Clerk (Mr F. Harris). The minutes of the previous j m-'ting were road and confirmed. The question of the approaches j to the bridge forme 1 the subject of gc irrespomlence with the Public Work s Department. The intention of the Department is now to raise the road approach in order tha' ron 1 teaffi • might get on to tlic railway line, in-4"ad of forming a 'subway under the railway as originally intended. To tliis the Board demurred and was unanimously of opinion that as a subway would lie m ire convenient and conper, ev . lean; should be employed to prevent the schema of the Department from being given effect to. The clerk of the Raglan Town Board stat ed that they had asked the Premier and the Minister for Public Works to pay their pro-mi-ed visit to the district during the present parliamentary recess, and asked the Board to cooperate in tliis direction. It was resolved to do so. A letter re the Tainaki route for the proposed WaileinataManu kau canal was received. The Board resolved to blind with screenings that part of the (treat South Road immediately j south of the cemetery. Accounts totalling £147 Is on the general, and £8 8s 4d on the loan, accounts were passed for payment.
