PELICAN BANNED
AT LONDON HOTEL. LONDON, December 21. A West End hotel manager has refused to accommodate a full-grown pelican, although accompanied by its owner. Miss Caryl Bergman brought the pet from Paris by air, with a black silk bow round its neck. In a luxurious motor-car they arrived at the hotel, where the manager, although accustomed to film star s and actresses’ peculiar requirements in connection with the housing of pets, declared that, despite Miss Bergman’s reservation of a suite, he should have had notice of the bird’s arrival, in order to construct a suitable cage.
Mis.s Bergman promptly led the docile pet to a taxi and sought accommodation elsewhere.
