MONEY STOLEN

The railway station at Katikati was broken into early on Sunday morning, and the safe blown open with gelignite, a cash bag -containing £5 being stolen. The theft was . not discovered until the evening when the -catch on the window was found broken.

Evidently the thief had -used two heavy door mats and a tarpaulin to deaden the sound.

Residents assert they heard -a noise early on Sunday morning, but no notice was taken of it.
