FIRST MEETING

NEW CHRISTCHURCH TRAM BOARD. (Pit Press Association — Copyright ) CHRISTCHURCH, December 9. At. the first meeting of the new Christchurch Tramway Board, Rev. J. Iv. Archer Avas elected chairman, and' Mr E. J. HoAvard, M.P., as deputychairman. There were no other nominations. Mr HoAvard stated that the : Board Avould set to work immediately to examine the Avhole operations of the service.

Members of the Labour party occupied seats that had previously been held by members of the Citizens’ Asoociation Avhen the Board met thi s morning.
