AUCKLAND, November 24

The sloop Veronica will leave Auckland on February 24 for England, via Suez. On arrival there it is likely she will be broken up. 'She was at Napier when the earthquake occurred in 1931 and the work done there by officers and men was later officially recognised. The sloop is manned by ■lmperial ratings who will return to Engand in her. She will he replaced next year by the Leith, an oil burning vessel. The Laburnum, the Veronica’s sister ship, will' be replaced in the first half of 1935.
