At the Victorian singles tennis championships ,in the quarter finals Lee beat Turnbull o—6, 6—4, 11—9, 4—6, 6—B; Crawford beat Hughes 7—o, 1-6, 6-3, 6—l.

In the- mixed doubles main event, A. Willard and Miss Joan Hartigan beat Hopinan and Miss Hall 6—l, 3—6, 11—9. In the women’s singles semi-final, Miss Chithy beat Miss Lemessurur 6—3, 6—2. The inter-State match, which was stopped by rain last Saturday, resulted in McGrath beta ting Hassett 6—l, 6—B, 6—3. GREYMOUTH V. HOKITIKA. Tile Greymouth teams to play Hokitika to-morrow are as follow: A team at Greymouth.—C. Smith, A. K. Smith, P. Curran and R. Rollinson; Misses Costello, and N. (2) That next Sunday be a free Sunday, and that the first challenge be accepted 'on the following Sunday, (o) Discussion, took pFce regarding . Clubs playing their members to their respective .ladders, and it was decided to leave the matter to the discretion of the various clubs. (4) In the event of a wet Sunday, the match will be played the first fine Sunday. (5) Challenges were received fr'om Three Mile, Arahura, iSeavjew,' and Seaside Clubs. The draw resulted: I'. Arahura • 2. Three Mile ; 3. Seaside ; 4. Seaview.
