MERRMAN’S TRIAL
FOR THE MURDER OF HIS WIFE
REMANDED TILL DECEMBER 12.

CHRISTCHURCH, November 30.
Reginald John Merriman, aged 32, a motor driver, of Kerr’s Road, Avonside, Ava s arrested at the Public Hospital this lpoining, and later charged in the Magistrate’s Court, that, on or about November 13, lie murdered his Avi e, Elizabeth Jane Merriman. He Avas remanded to appear on December 12 Avlien the hearing proceeds. Merriman showed no signs of distress Avhen he took his place.
. Detective Senior Sergeant Fox said the police wished for a remand until December 12.
Counsel tor the defence (Mr C. S. Thomas), agreed. Merriman Avas brought to the court in a police car, I 'accompanied by two detectives ,a sergeant and a constable
