RIOTING OCCURS IN SPAIN

LONDON, November 19.

Madrid reports the mass seizure of the estates of ten dukes, which were Handed over to the peasants. 'This was the last minute attempt by the Republicans to assist their cause in', to-day’s elections, the main issue whereof is whether the electors will support the Catholics or Communists. Rioting has already begun. *

Two were killed and many injured in disorders in Granada Valencia and Gijon.

The police at Gijon are disarming the villagers to prevent armed intimidation of aristocrats.

They are also guarding the convents in Madrid.

SOCIALIST THREAT OF REVOLT

The “Times” Madrid correspondent states: “Some 1 of the extreme Socialist leaders openly announce that they will resort to a revolution if Sunday’s general election results in Spain go against them..

CONFUSION REIGNS IN SPAIN

MADRID, November 18

There are over seven thousand candidates belonging to 92 different parties and groups contesting to-mor-row’s Spanish elections. Confusion reigns, and it is unlikely that any parties will obtain a governing majority over the Socialist groups.
