JEWS INRUSH INTO PALESTINE. A GENERAL STRIKE ORDERED, (United Pree. s Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) LONDON, October 27. The “Daily Mail’s” correspondent at Jaffa says: “As a protest against increasing Jewish immigration to Palestine, the Arab Executive have ordered a general strike throughout Palestine for to-day (Friday) October 27, the strike to include a mass demonstration. The Palestine Commissioner has. issued prohibition of the .strikes. Defiance of this is resulting in extraordinary police and military precautions. These include the use of additional foot and mounted British police, also two companies of tho Royal Ulster Rifles, who are hastening to Jaffa, as also .are .armoured cars from the Air Force’s Ramleh Base. POLICE FIRE ON CROWD. (Received this day at 11.50 a.m.) JAFFA, October 2. Steel-helmeted police were compelled to fire on a large unruly Arab crowd, defiantly demonstrating against tho increased Jewish immigration.
