St. Mary by schoolroom wasVowded on thq occasion, and great interest; vyas taken in the, various drawings, which were carried . put by. >Messrs Coulspn, Seynnuir, and Frgebury. The results of the drawings were as follow Ladies’ costume, Miss C. Power (Dennison.) p bedspread, Mr A. Henderson ; bridal veil, Miss Ironsides; cot outlit. Miss Clara Stephens (Rimu); cot spread, Miss Molly Managhan. ■ Ross Warden’s Court.—The Warden’s Court was presided over bv Warden Achespu. F. J. Denia, town section lease.—Granted; David Sullivan, prospecting license, Mt Greenland.—Granted; sarah McCracken, lease qf town section,—Granted ; Francis Healy, prospecting license.-^-Grant-ed; Thomas Ford; town section case. —Granted; D. P. Stuart, renewal of timber area.—Granted. Westland A. and P. Association.— The annual meeting *of the Association was held at- the County Chambers, the president (Mr J. S: Lang), presiding; The following officers were elected 1 :—President; Mr R. Houliston; vice-president, Mr H. Norman; treasurer. Mr J. J. Mclntosh; committee, Messrs T. O’Neill, H. Jones, O. R. Glass, J. 11. Fleming, R. Houliston, junr., R. Mackley, J. S. Lang and the Rev. J. G. Ellis.
Motor-car Age.—The motor-car ago has arrived. Mr J. C. Mqlfroy has just imported a. very handy and smooth running car, which will prove the forerunner of similar vehicles. Now that these speedy cars have put in an svppearagce, it is more essential than ever that the rule of the road should he observed.
