WARM WELCOME AT FREMANTLE

FREMANTLE, October 17,

The liner “Orontes” arrived at Fremantle to-day from London. Included in -her -passengers is the new Papal Delegate to Australia, Archbishop Bem-a-rdini, who has brought a special message of greeting from the Pope to -.he Catholics of Australia, There was a- 'Urge gathering, and school children carrying -appropriate banners, gathered at the ship’s side to welcome him.

Archbishop Bernardi-ni, when interviewed, said that he would be very happy in Australia, where there was full religious freedom, which, he added, seemed to be a privilege of the Ordinances of the British Empire, and where the reLaions between the various creeds were more cordial than they were elsewhere.
