On Friday evening, 20th inst., the annual Footballers’ Ball will take place in the Totara Hall. This ball promises to be as big a success as usual. The floor is receiving special attention by the committee. The Ross Orchestra will supply the music. The programme will consist of modern and old timi and novelty dances. Advantage willl be taken of this occasion to present the Cup and Shield won by the Junior team during this season. Patrons will be assured of a very pleasant evening’s entertainment. The Very Rev. George Budd, exMicderator lof the General Assembly and Director- of Home Missions: and Church Extension work for the Presbyterian Church of N.Z , will he visiting Ross and South Westland during this week. Passing through Ruatapu and Ross on Thursday, 19th, he willl be welcomed at Harihari in the Presbyterian Church that evening. On Friday, 20th, he will motor through to Wehaka, calling at Matainui and Waiho, back to Matainui, where he will meet a combined gathering at- the Wata-roa Hall at 8 p.m.
On Saturday } 21st, he will return to Ress, meeting the management committee there iii the evening. On Sunday lie will conduct services at Rilatapu at 11 a.m., Waitaha- at 3 p.rtl., and Ross at'7.3o p.m. The evening service at Ross will he a special youth service, which, no doubt, will bo well uttended.
