Rev. James Baird, of Kent TeiGace Presbyterian Church, has accepted a call from St. Paul’s, Highfield, Tima.ru, and will be inducted in about three weeks time.
CATERPILLARS
ASHBURTON, October 9.
It h-as‘been decided by the Ashburton County Council that the best method of helping ■ farmers in the districts affected -by the caterpillar pest is for it to mix -and -provide at a nominal cost the preparation of arsenic and bran for the eradication of the insects if there Is a sufficient, demand for the poison. This decision is the outcome of a discussion on the matter at the meeting o-f the council last Friday.
