They will be a struggle to the death between the Socialists and the Conservatives led by Lerroux, erstwhile Republican, behind whom stands President Zamora, whose fanatical affection for the Jesusists caused a rift with Azana’s Socialist Cabinet.

The Conservatives are. hopeful of sweeping the polls.
