1700 FROM UNNATURAL CAUSES.

The use of flimsy riverernft over Assam’s waterways has been responsible for 1423 deaths during the past twelve months in that province. Other unnatural deaths include 159 due to snake bites, and 123 to attacks by wild beasts.
