Vines ,ba s turned a professional, so Tilden announced on Monday, and will make bis professional debut against Tilden at Madison Squaie g~r de,n on January 10ah. He has signed a one-year contract on terms which Tilden hag refused to disclose. He said: “I will not discuss the terms, except to say that they ore mutually satisfactory, and that Vines has signed a contract with me. Ido wish to make it cileav that Vines had no agreement, and did not sign anything, until after he had finished his amateur caredr in the Pacific South West tournament last month at Los Angeles.”
