SYDNEY STRIKE
FELLMONG’ERS REJECT OFFER. (Australian Press Association).' SYDNEY, Sep. 26. The felhnongers’ strike is still progressing, There wag to-day a mass meeting of the operatives to consider the settlement terms, as cabled yeterday. The men rejected the proposals, The Industrial Registrar was informed by the strikers’ leaders that the conditions offered were regarded as unsatisfactory. ABATTOIR MEN.RESUME. SYDNEY, Sep. 26. The abattoir hands, who struck, as cabled, yesterday, returned to work today. Their dispute with the employers was settled amicably. NO SETTLEMENT, SHEEPSKIN SALES AFFECTED. ( Received this day at 9.55 a.m.) SYDNEY, Sep. ,27. There are indications now that the felhnongers’ strike will he protracted. In view of the fact that the strike dislocated the export trade, and the men rejected the proposals for a settlement, there is speculation whether the Federal Government will invoke the Crimes Act. Employers have notified wool selling brokers that they will not attend the sheepskin sales a® buyers, and a postponement of the sales is now being considered.
