The Ministry was defeated by 27 votes to 26 on a motion to adjourn the house to discuss the retirement of two members • of the Geelong Harbour Trust, and the appointment of two others. The premier '/Sir Stanley Argyle), regards the vote seriously. Cabinet considers it to-day. PROVIDING WORK IN N.S.W. SYDNEY, September 19.'The State Government has made two and a half million pounds available to the Water Board, which will thus be enabled to provide new works covering two years for 18,000 men.
