HUSBAND GETS TWO MONTHS’

[Per Press Association Copyriaht.)

WELLINGTON, August 23

I cannot, look on the injuries his wife received, as other than fully serious ones, said Mr Page, SAL, when sentencing George Victor Reed, 38, a seamanto two months’ on a charge of assaulting his wife, Anubella. The police offered no evidence- on the charge of assaulting the wife so as. to cause actual bodily harm. When accused .'leaded guilty, Sub-Inspector Martin said the accused and his wife apparently had some drink, the accused more than his wife. They had somedifference and accused attacked 1% wife, wounding her iin the throat with l a razor. A. woman heard shouting from both parties, and intervened. Fortunately she got the wife away from -tire accused and took her to her place. Subsequently, the injured woman was taken to the. hospital. The doctor’s report , stated there was a, cut four inches long in the neck, and she had numerous bruises about the face' and chest. Also probably, she sustained a- fractured rib. Fortunately the matter did not turn out as serious as was anticipated and the woman was discharged next morning, but the fact remained, that accused used a razor on her. 1 • ••
