Officials of the Papakura- Rugby League Club were in a predicament when they discovered that all fhe sandwiches, part of a dance supper, were "/missing.
The club wa B holding a “back to childhood” carnival dance in the .Regent . Theatre, Papakura. iSupper,time ,had. almost-arrived when someone asked,,' “Where ' are ; the sandwiches?’’ Officials looked in cupboards am), under seats without Result; and sonie.psearqhed outside with torches,. -The president ‘Addressed the dancers from the sfage..apd •.asked .if .anyone: lncKplayed,,’a praciicaL jpke, but.still Ahepe wqs tto result. The police were _fi pal jy . called in, but there- was, no trace .of the sandwiches.. and cheese , were substituted. forj the missing .sanjwichqg .and, after supper the dance proceeded. The matter still remains a, .mystery.
