SYDNEY, Avgust 16. Tha “Herald” says; “A new political organisation, to be known as the ‘Consumers’ Tariff Reduction League’ will be launched in Sydney during the next few days. Its main object will be to secure tariff reduction and reforms in trade and production restictions. A specific demand will be made for an immediate reduction of the existing tariff to the level of 1921-30 tariff, and the elimination of protective duties on goods, the manufacture of which in Australia, is uneconomic.. The principles of the Ottawa Agreement will be endorsed. It is intended that, unless its aims are achieved to submit candidates at the next Federal elections.
