TRADE RECOVERY IN BRITAIN

The National Federation of Iron and Steel Manufacturers report a steady increase in production since the beginning of the year, and sign B of trade improvement are also indicated in reports from industrial and other centres in several of which, although the unemployment figures continue high, the work compared with last year lias increased.
■ The upward tendency in business is also reflected in London shipping. Excluding vessels in ballast, 4248 cargo vessels used the port of London during the last three weeks of July, over 600 more, than during the corresponding period last year.
