The death occurred on Thursday at the Old People’s Home, Greymouth, of William Peter Frazer, aged 83 years. The deceased had been an inmate of the home for a lengthy period. He was a native of New South Wales, but came to the West Coast as a young man. He worked with the late Mr R. J. Seddon,. as a chainman, at Kumara, and then with the late Mr E. J. Lord, for the Lands and Survey Department. He was an employee of the Grey County Council, for a term of 25 years.

At a meeting of the Kumara Borough Council, correspondence was received from Westland County Council stating that the wire bridge over .Kapitca bridge woud be attended to. Mrs J. A. Bean wrote regretting that the request of the Council to endow her late father’s sections for the pupose of making a Seddon Memorial Bowling Green, could not be acceded to. It was decided to again write on the subject. Military headquarters wrote stating a visit of inspection would be made shortly of the suggested aeroplane landing ground. Tt was resolved to apply to the GreyPovver Board for further particulars of lighting and heating costs to consumers. It was decided to ask the Public Works engineer to have necessary repairs to Teremakau road bridge carried out. It was resolved to protest against any amendment to the mining act lifting the proclamation of West Coast rivers as sludge channels. Proposed improvements to the approaches to Kumara cemetery were approved and it was resolved to invite assistance from old residents 'and Westland County Council. _A special committee reported on Borough finances, suggesting the officers of town clerk and inspector be combined at a salary of £IOO per year, with attendance at the office two hours daily, and various other recommendations in regard to the collection of rates. The report is to be considered at a special meeting of the Council.
