WELLINGTON, July *2B.
The “Evening Post” states that, for some weeks past, the members of the Coalition party representing the urban districts have been at Wellington for the purpose of discussing various as pects of the Government’s policy, particularly these aspects which it is con. sidered, have pressed severely on the people in the cities and in the semi*urban districts.
The members concerned have not met with the idea of forming a hostilegroup within the Coalition, but, rather, in the hope that- it may be possible to bring sufficient influence to bear on the Government to cause it to follow a policy which is more likely to meet with tiie approval of the cities. It may he expected that during the next session of Parliament, strong pressure will he brought to hear on the Government to make some action to bring relief to the city electors. It is considered that, in the absence of such notion, the Government might find itself seriuosly embarrassed in the event of a- general election. The members who are concerned in the movement do not consider that the present is the right time to take action that would jeopardise the Govern-, merit’s position in the House, but they feel that they can do good service by working within the Coalition in the deavour to improve the position of the urban electors.
