REFLOAT EFFORT FAILS

WELLINGTON, June 26. Another attempt to refloat the launch Tvcreru, which went ashore nt .Palliser Bay on June 4, Avas made yesterday, but Avas unsuccessful because of heavy seas Avliich came up in the course of operations. A party of 15 men went out to Palliser Bay early in the morning, and the launch Avas hauled down to the Abater, but it was found impossible to make any progress against the surf, which sent the boat back almost to its original position. Accordingly, the Kereru Avas securely anchored, and the party returned to Wellington. It is intended to make another effort to get the boat afloat at the first faA’ourable opportunity. 1
