OBITUARY

PATRICK O’SULLIVAN. Advice has been received of the death on Sunday last at Melbourne of Mr Patrick O’Sullivan, a former well known figure in the theatrical world. The deceased, who was a half brother of the late Mr Tom Pollard, was a regular visitor to Hokitika in ,the clays when Pollard’s Opera Company was in full swing, and later resided at Greymouth and was a constant visitor to Hokitika when Pollard’s Pictures were inaugurated here. After the death of Mr Pollard, Mr O’Sullivan removed to Melbourne, where lie has since resided. He was a native of Tasmania and nearly 70 years of age. Mr Jack O’Sullivan manager of Morgan’s Pictures at Westport, is a brother. MRS C. COLLIGAN.

A highly respected resident of the Buller district, Mrs C. Colligan, died on Saturday at the residence of: her daughter. She was 86 years of age. Her husband died about 15 years ago, and she is survived by a grown-up family. She arrived in New Zealand from Scotland 50 years ago, and lived most of that time in the Waimangaroa district. MR W. F. He held the position of factory manager, having been forty-nine years with the firm. MR WILLIAM KNOX. SYDNEY, June 26. The death has taken place of Mr William Knox, .who played probably the greatest part- in building up the business of the Colonial Sugar Refining Company, Limited. The deceased formerly was the Chairman and ManagingDirector of the Company, His deatn followed after a long illness. He was eighty-six years of age. He leaves, a widow and four daughters. One of the daughters is the wife of Mr Colin Ste phen, the chairman of the Australian Jockey Club.
