Ivartigi from New Plymouth to Greymouth,' and has been in custody since, pleaded guilty , a nd W's convicted and discharged, the fare having been paid.

Unaware that he had broken a hone in the leg through a fall, an Auckland architect, Mr J. T. D. Lloyd walked to his home a distance of about 200 yarcis ar.d then collapsed. The walk included an ascent of some steps from the beach to the road. Mr Lloyd, who i s a member of the New Zealand Yacht Squadron, was working on his launch when a baulk of timber which appeared to be securely wedged under the launch came away in his hands. He fell about nine feet to the beach, the dislodged piece of timber' striking his right leg. After being assisted by another yachtsman. Mr Lloyd walked t 0 his home. Shortly after he reached the house he fainted.
