In spite of police precautions, lie say© a regular stream of suicide?--flows toward Mount Mihara, a volcano .situated on ar. island just outside...Tokio Bay. Last Sunday ,six imen sprang - into the smoking abyss, and 15 men and five women were forcibly restrained. More than 40 have dived to death jn the crater . since January 1, and 15Q have been dragged back from the edge. The mysterious dure of Mihara is being widely discussed. It has been .proposed to 'forbid land.ng. o.n the island except on business, but it is a favourite holiday resort for Tokio people, and the inhabitants protest that they, should not be isolated because Jof suicide mania on the part of others.
