N.S.W. REFERENDUM
ARGUMENT OYEK ITS VALIDITY. •C/fjSE BEFORE FULL COURT. (Australian Press Association.) SYDNEY, May 25. A" .argument regarding the validity of the recent Legislative Council Referendum began to-day in the State Full Court, before Justices Harvey, Longinnes, add Davidson. There was a iormicl,bl e array of counsel. Three King’s Counsel appeared on each sideMr Loxton, K. 0., for the plaintiffs, substantially claimed that, there had not been a .proper submission of the referendum to the people, who had not been properly informed of the details of the Bill for the reform of the Legislative Council.
Mr justice - Davidson at one stage interposed : “Would it not be an adequate submission if the electors were told .as to where yon may see a copy of thi s Bill at .such and such a place? Or do yon -argue every elector must receive a copy of the Bill Mr Loxton: “T claim that, more must he done than was done at this election.” The hearing was adjourned.
