CORRESPONDENCE

R-.S.A. AFFAIRS

'(To the Editor)

, Sir,—Kindly,'allow me space in your valuable columns to say a few words rei ‘it.'S.A. matters. As a returned man. with several years’ service I mould like to know why the secretary has not advertised the date of the annual meeting as in previous years. Is it because Mr Patorso-n and other members of the executive are .afraid that too many men may attend the meeting and upset their applecart? I understand that financial members received a notice re the meeting and the unfinancial members who aro working nil. day and have not the time to inquire tore left out in the dark. Possibly they are not wanted in the Tittle circle that surrounds the executive and their friends.

Now. brother Diggers, bear in mind the annual meeting of the 11.5. A. is to bo held next Monday evening. Roll up with your 5s if your are unfintoncial and have a say in the administration of your affairs, as we know we will have to fight for our rights, otherwise the chosen few will reap the benefits as they have done in the past, Thanking you for your space.

I am etc., RIP VAN WINKLE.

Hokitika, May 19th., 1933. [A considerable portion of the aboye letter has ibeen deleted, being considered of too personal a nature for publication.—Ed. Gn.]
