A lliiddle-aged man, described as a company manager, surrendered to the police, and later appeared in the Police Court, on a charge of stealing £ll’ 9s, the property of 1 a city firm, Detective Sergeant McHugh, in ontaming a week’s remand, asked that, if bail were granted, it should he substantial, as other charges were pend-
ing. The accused was allowed bail / of £lsOl aind was ordered to report to the police as : required. At the request of counsel, publication of accused’s name was suppressed in the meantime.
