GREYMOUTH YARDS.

The National Mortgage Coy. and Dalgety and Coy. report on the Greymouth stock sale, on Monday, as follows: —There was an entry iff 30 lat cattle and 200 prime fat sneep offered by public auction. The condition ol the lat cattle had suffered somewhat on account of the boisterous weather experienced for the past month, and were of light weights and medium quality. The sheep, however, were of excellent quality throughout, and met with good competition. Beet realised from 14/- to 17/6 per hundred, according to quality. Tlie following is a list of the principal sales: —

Account Nolan Bros, Olsuru: 20 fat wethers 16/6. 20 16/-, 20 15/3, 30 fat ewe.s 14/-, 90 13/9, 20 12/9. Account James Minehan: 2 steers £5, 4 light steers £3 ss, 2 light steers £3, 1 sucker 57/6, 14 light cows and heifers from £3 to £3 17s 6d, 2 fat cows £3 10s.

There was a medium yarding of store lambs, mostly backward lots. Buying power was weak, and it was a dragging Stale. ’ There wrs an unattractive yarding of store sheep. Sales were hard to make.

There was a smaller yarding of mut. ton. Freezing buyers were keen for medium weights, and butchers’ competition was keen on heavy sorts. There was a small yarding of fatlambs, and there wa s ‘ consistent compeition from tlie butchers and freezing companies. It was a satisfactory sale. Best heavy lambs sold to 18s 4d, prime heavy 13s to 15s 6d, medium 11s to 13s, light- 8s 6d to 10s 6d.

There was another heavy yarding of b-eef, with a, further easing. The values were the lowest on record. 'Best heavy bullocks sold to £8 T2s *6d, prime £5 to £7 2 S 6d, medium £4 to £5 ss; extra heavy -cowg to £6 2s 6d, prime £3 5s to £4 ss, medium £2 5s to £3 ,2s 6d, light from 30s. Best heifers sold to £6 2s 6d, medium £3 to £4, light from 355. 'Values were easier for fat pigfq Porkers fetched 20s 6cl to 23 s 6d, •heavy 25s 6d to 30,s 6d ■ ] choppers 2Ce> to £3 8s 6d; baconers 30s to 36s 6d, heavier 39s 6d to 50s 6d, extra ,tq £3.
