COMPANIES REFUSE TO GIVE . information.
Australian Press' Association.)
MELBOURNE, April 22
Challenging •th e validity of the Royal Commissions Act, officers of the three: major oil companies refuse to produce the information which is 'being requested by the Roya] Commissio.n on petrol prices.
Th e inquiry was adjourned, the chairman of. the Commission announcing the nest step would probably be the prosecution of one of the refusers to test the .point. It is understood that the Fedot--. Government will probably secure the
co-operation of State Governments, thus giving the Royal Commission the fullest powers of inquiry on all points except evidence- concerning certain overseas questions.
