A practice match prior to the commencement of tile Rugby competitions was played between Kiwi and Rivals Clubs on Cass Square on Saturday afternoon, before a fair attendance of spectators. The match was won by Kiwi by 14 points to o. For the winners tries were p«ored by Henderson (2), Sumner and Fleming, Walker converting one. W. Woolhouse scored >a try for Rivals, Agnew converting. Neither team was at its full strength, and the exhibition was patchy. Nevertheless a number • of spectacular movement on each side was seen.
