Ooss-examined, Lieut. Stewart said tb-’jt lie did not remember discussing mechanical matters with Obst. lie did ■not know Obst’s profession. He denied that be ever gave Marie Louise information for money. Witness terminated his visits to Berlin because it wag risky, though the letter to Obst was not a warning that it was all up.
It was absurd, be, said, to suggest that the fifty pounds was paid him for information communicated to Obst or Marie Louise. Stewart was returned to the Tower after six and a half hours’ in the witness box.
