SUCCESSFUL TRIAL
BRIAN BORU COMPANY’S DREDGE GREYMOUTH, March 2. Situated about a mile off the GreyReef ton Road, in; the Nelson Creek district, " the Brian Bofu dredge, the first to' operate since th# gold mining revival in the Grey dis« trict, was yesterday taken over by the Company fvom the contractor, Mr Gordon McKay, t " The machine, which is a thoroughly up-to-date one, has taken just about a year to get ready for working from the time of its transfer front Maori Creek, and in theTprocess it has been transformed into virtually a new dredge. A number of the directors and shareholders -in: the Company motored to the claim: yesterday afternoon for the occasion of the. taking of the dredge over from n the contractor, and all were impressed most favourably with the sight wliiclr she presented as she floated placidly:in her dam. Appropriately *to -her name, she is painted green, and has a most spick and span appearance from ladder tb stacker. After, an inspection by the visitors, the' formal ceremony of taking over took place within the roomy pilot house of the dredge on the upper deck.
