At the Band Contest to-night, the A grade test was.'.won by the Woolston Band. The results were as folloAVs: — Woolston first lest, 144pts, second test aggregate 1; Port Nicholson first test 140, second test 134|-; aggregate 2745, 2; St Kilda, first test 138, second test 135; aggregate 273, 3rd; Invercargill, first test 137, second test 182; aggregate 260 4th.
Bass Drum. Solo (sight test).—AY. Woodley (Mntuufa Town'Band) 40pts, 1; H. J. Hall (AVanganui Garrison Band) 33pts, 2nd; R. Allan (Timaru Municipal Band) 38pts, 3rd, Side Drum Solo (sight test) —J. Lees (St Kilda Municipal Band) 40pts Ist; E. Andrews (Kaikorai Brass Baiid) 35pts, 2nd; AY. Sinton (Kaikorai Band) 32pts, 3rd. B Flat Cornet Solo (own choice).— B.
