WEST COAST CHAMPIONSHIP
GREYMOUTH, February 22. Owng to rain there was no play in the AVest Coast Croquet Associaton’s annual tournament yesterday morning, but it was continued in fine weather in the 'afternoon. The final of the B division of the silver button competition resulted in a win for Miss D. Hambleton (Greymouth) who defeated Mrs Osborne (Reeftcn). The results of the afternoon’s play were:— Championship singles ‘ Mrs AVhibley (Greymouth) beat Mrs Nottle (Westport) 26-8.
Championship doubles, first life: Mesdames Gilbert and Nottle (Westport) beat Mesdames Mercer and Davies (Greymouth) 26-17; Mesdames Whibley and Hannan beat Mesdames Warnes and Robertson (Greymouth) 26-16; Mesdames Tepnent and McKay (Greymquth) boat Mesdames McCracken end Roge (Runanga) 26-10, Championship doubles, second lifo: Mesdames Robertson and Warnes (Greymouth) beat Mesdames Mercer and Davies (Greymouth) 26-21. Silver button, B division, final: Miss D. Hamleton (Greymouth) beat Mrs Osborne (Reefton) 26-23, 26-18. Handicap Singles: Mrs Gillespie (Westport), 4 bisques, beat Mrs Cairns (Reefton) 10 bisques 26-6.
