Purchases made at Auckland for the replenishment of the American tourist liner’s larder represented an expenditure of several thousand pounds. Stores taken on board, at Auckland comprised 20001 b of butter, 48001 bof lamb, IOQOIb of mutton, 5001 bof veal, 40001 bof liver and sweet breads, 3001 box tails, 30001 b ham, 4001 b of fresh fish, 200 gallons of milk, 4001 b of fresh vegetables, and 10 gallons of olives. Nor was the thirst of tljh passengers overlooked. Over 70 cases of wines, and liqeurs wee purchased, ad one of his liquers were purchased, and one Auckland wine and spirit merchant sold out his complete stocks of champagne and Rhine wine. In addition, the Lurline’s cellar was stocked with large quantities of ale and stout. >
