Thy Aiayqr-(Air G. A. Perry) and the Comity Cha.ii'maii (Air J. A. Murdoch), with, the Town and County Clerks, conferred yesterday morning in respect to the working hours of the unemployed. ..It .was .reported the full eight hours were not being worked daily, aud that laxity was shown by some of the men in their work. It has been decided to have the works inspected daily as far as possible, and to sc-c that starting and knocking off time was observed by the workmen. Piflictuality must be observed in the starting time, and any ease of slackness reported will be. dealt with by standing the offenders down, .for/.such time as may be necessary..
