INTEREST PAYMENT

THAMES HARBOUR DEBENTURES. THAMES, Feb. 11, A communication was received by the Thames Harbour Board this evening from Mr Walter Nash, M.fP., on the proposal for legislation concerning the payment of interest to the Board's debenture-holders. The matter was discussed in committee, and the following resolution was finally carried unanimously:— “That the Board agree to power being given to the debenture-holders’ committee to appoint a commissioner, subject to the commissioner being deprived of any power to levy a rate over any part of the harbour district other than that of the special rating area, comprising the Borough of Thames, and that it be a condition precedent to this consent that any legislation relative to the Thames Harbour Board’s activities be referred to this 'Board for its approval prior to it being enacted.”
