NELSON BOARD’S OPPOSITION. ' ... NELSON, February 13. Strong opposition to clause four of the Education Amendment Act Bill, giving school committees the power to suspend a teacher for neglect of duty or neglect of a lawful demand, was expressed by the Nelson Education Board. It was decided strongly to protest against the section. Hon. W. H. McIntyre, the chairman, mentioned the position which would arise in a small , backblocks place where a committee 1 might show partisanship against a teacher. It was also decided to circularise the other boards.
