INVERCARGILL, February 12
After a long dry spell, with a great deal of sunshine, the week-end in Invercargill was marked by a storm of unusual severity. All out-door fixtures had to be postponed yesterday. There was a strong south-west wind 'which wan {accompanied 'bv fierce of hail and rain, which pounded on the roof tops last night with exceptional vigour. The wind is still very strong to-dav and there were intermittent showers one this evening pelting down with great force and sending pedestrians scurrying for shelter. A considerable amount of rain has fallen during the past two days,. and it should prove most beneficial to the province .
