BLAZING AEROPLANE

FRENCH PILOT’S FEAT

SIX MEN DASH TO SAFETY.

LONDON, January 27

The presence of mind of the French piloij Cosins in skilfully landing a blazing Air Union mail aeroplane, bound from Paris to London, saved the crew and three British passengers. Flamea spouted from the engines immediately after the outbreak had been detected, and defied the crew’s attempts at extinction. Cosins manoeuvred the machine to an emergency landing ground at Foix, and the six men aboard sprang to safety just before the petrol tanks exploded.
