CHINA’S FINANCIAL POSITION.

SHANGHAI, December 20,
Mr T. V. Soo.ng, Chinese Minister of Finance, addressing the central executive committee of' the Kuomintang stated that despite the world depression and the slump in silver, which has largely increased the amounts payable as interest on the amortisation of China’s foreign loans; and also the non-remittance of any revenues to China from Manchuria, and other drains on the national treasury, China was able to (balance this year’s budget, which, he urged, was a happy augury for China’s future, and was sufficient to refute the malicious' propaganda depicting China as a disorganised state verging 0 n anarchy, Mr Sooug predicts a further improvement in future years if Chinn’s military expenditure is kept within reasonable Imits as it has been this year.
