GIRLS ESCAPE
FROM MATRON IN CHARGE

CHRISTCHURCH. December 19.
Two girls brought from Auckland under escort, who have been committed to a Christchurch institution, eluded the matron in charge of them yesterday and made good their escape at the Christchurch railway station. They are strangers to the. city and information regarding their whereabouts is sought by the police. Both girls are sixteen and a half years of age, and about five feet five inches in height. One girl is fair complexioned with blonde luiir and plucked eyebrows. She was wearing a fawn military style overcoat, a green silk dress, and brown shoes anff stockings. The second girl is of slight build and fresh complexioned. .She was wearing a short green woollen coatee, yellow johnnie cap, green skirt, brown sandal shoes and stockings.
